I have seen the impact of poor mental health and a lack of wellness among friends, in my extended family, and in my communities. Like so many people have done, I noticed that mental health has become a particularly acute issue in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. Since joining the board, I have listened intently to people in my circle who share, sometimes tragic, stories about the fallout from mental issues going unattended or even unrecognized. These people have given me even deeper conviction that I am in the right place at the right time. I serve in honor of these people and all the people we will soon help thanks to supporters like you.
For almost 30 years, I have used my experience in data analytics in the pursuit of private enterprise. In recent years, I turned my attention to helping nonprofits effectively use data to support their missions. I was thrilled to discover an ideal opportunity on the R.O.S.E.S. Board as the VP of Development. This is a charity growing from the ground up where I can establish a foundation of data analytics in service of an important cause and in collaboration with like-minded and passionate colleagues. My work with charities, education-oriented organizations, and civic groups helped me identify a need for formal data analytics practices in these spaces. With R.O.S.E.S. I look forward to supporting efforts to improve mental health outcomes for young people.
